I joined the Classroom 2.0 network and can see some great potential to asking and learning from others. In this world of exploding technology, everything can seem very overwhelming but with people who have done it, it can be done. I think their real world examples and applications are what are going to make this network worth my time.

I have always liked google earth. It is a cool tool to allow students to see areas where they have never been. For literature, I can show them the width of the Mississippi river where Tom Saywer and Huck Finn played, I can show them the flats of Mali where Sundiata faught his last battle. It makes a powerful impact on the students.

I can see encouraging students to use this when they are collaborating on projects and can divide the job equally.

I already have a RSS feed into my google account and I have the RSS feed set up on my school website. The challenge is too much information. I know that this is all well and good, but I need time to play and disect and figure out the new data…and that is something that I just don’t have much of. I am excited about collaborating with Nancy Spalding at DCC but it seems like there is so much that only one thing implimented a year is almost the maximum you can do.

I already use ED voicethread in the classroom and will continue to do so. After reviewing this information, I will focus more on the storyboarding side to help ensure quality.

I can see a lot of potential with google docs, but to be honest, I am worried about integrity. People can publish and edit but when does it become a public work instead of an individuals work?

After reading these, I was inspired to create a wiki that allows all the 6-10 Language A teachers to post and share instructional strategies for various areas. My goal is to create a truly collaborative school.

Classroom 2.0 seems like a very powerful tool that teachers can use to keep in touch with each other and share ideas. This class has given me so many ideas, but to be honest, I am having a hard time to get to know each one. I need a full week off just to get through all of this. The biggest problem I have had so far with this class is planning the technology so that the integration is meaningful. I have signed up for a classroom 2.0 page, but to be honest, I won’t get to play much with it until Christmas break.

LOVE TAG CROWD!  I can see a huge benefit for my English classroom. What a great way to share information and keep their attention at the same time! I could not get to the other web page, but I am planning on using this in class next week.

I have used ikeepbookmarks.com and it is a very powerful tool for my students to reference anywhere.
